Philanthropic Foundations Canada (PFC) has co-sponsored the development of a new guide for foundations looking to explore the world of impact investing. The Impact Investing Guidebook for Foundations provides a comprehensive introduction to impact investing, accompanied by a roadmap filled with peer examples to support application in many contexts: community and private, big and small, coast to coast.

As part of the learning materials, an interview with our Program Director, Karen Shelstad, led to an interesting case study about the Lawson Foundation’s journey into impact investing. Moreover, the website also features a number of tools as examples of best practice, including our Impact Investment Policy.

If you are a Foundation interested in moving into impact investing, the guidebook and resource centre is a practical resource than can help!
