5G Fund: Accelerate
Lawson Foundation’s 5G Fund: Accelerate supports 14 projects for youth mental health with micro-grants
The Lawson Foundation is pleased to announce 14 micro-grants for a total of $38,800 in support for youth mental health projects across Canada.
The 5G Fund: Accelerate (5G) aims to kick-start ideas that will contribute to the wellbeing of Canadian communities. It’s an initiative of the “fifth generation” of Lawson family members who have designed the fund and led the granting process from start to finish.
In this, its inaugural year, the 5th gen decided to focus on youth mental health and use micro-grants ($3,000 or less) as a means to accelerate or kick-start a number of projects across the country.
Being youth-led, having a positive impact on youth, and supporting the leadership of youth were important considerations for the selection committee. “Youth mental health matters, and the 5G granting committee felt this was an issue we wanted to help tackle,” says Stephanie Wood, co-chair of the 5G Fund: Accelerate granting committee and fifth generation family member of the Lawson Foundation. “We’re excited about these projects and the positive impact they will have in Canadian communities.”
Decriptions of the funded projects are included in an infographic (click on image below to view).
