Putting your ideas forward

Calls for proposals

In order to identify promising initiatives that we may wish to support wherever they may be in Canada, the Foundation periodically undertakes national calls for proposals.

For example, more recently, In 2015, there was a call for our Outdoor Play Strategy, in 2016, there was another call in the context of our Children and Youth Diabetes Strategy, and in 2018, there will be a call in our new Youth and the Environment area. If you are interested in hearing about future funding calls, please visit our website on a regular basis, join our mailing list or follow us on Twitter

Ideas Portal

The Foundation has also set up an Ideas Portal, as we, from time to time, consider unsolicited proposals that fall outside our calls. Please note that in such cases, the Foundation will only consider projects that are very closely aligned to our Impact Areas as described in our Strategic DirectionPlease do not submit an idea unless you have carefully reviewed our Strategic Direction and that you believe that your project aligns closely with the Impact Areas of the Foundation. If there is a close alignment with our Impact Areas, Foundation staff will endeavour to respond as soon as possible to discuss your submission.

However, if ideas are not closely aligned, Foundation staff will decline the application. Unfortunately, given our limited human resources, we will not be able to provide further feedback on applications that have been declined.

Please note that in 2018, most funds have been either committed or earmarked. Therefore funding for new projects or initiatives in this calendar year will be quite limited

Please be advised that we do not accept inquiries through regular mail, email or phone.

We will only accept applications in English.
