Tristan Oliff

Tristan Oliff (he/him) is a communications strategist and community builder who is guided by the belief that, by unearthing and sharing meaningful stories, we can cultivate collective understanding and plant the seeds that grow into systemic change.

Prior to joining the Lawson Foundation, Tristan was the Founder and Principal Consultant at Roots of Purpose Storytelling & Strategy, helping nonprofit organizations across Canada to clarify their direction, communicate with confidence and develop adaptive strategies for lasting impact.

Before that, Tristan worked as the Community Lead at Impact Hub Ottawa where, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he piloted numerous digital and hybrid engagement initiatives to keep a community of 250+ coworking members connected and inspired through difficult times. Tristan continues to support the Impact Hub Ottawa as a Board Member.

Grounded in curiosity, adaptability and joyful collaboration, Tristan’s professional journey has traversed many other pathways. From media relations on Parliament Hill to early childhood education in East Africa, founding an editorial publication to amplify youth voices, and having his photography featured by National Geographic—he now brings the full breadth of his creative experience to supporting the Lawson Foundation’s mission.

With South African and French Canadian roots, Tristan draws strength from the wisdom of his ancestors and the stories shared with him along the way.
