Ideas Portal

In order to identify promising initiatives that we may wish to support wherever they may be in Canada, the Foundation periodically undertakes national calls for proposals. In 2015, there was a call for our Outdoor Play Strategy, and in 2016, there was a call for the Children and Youth Diabetes Strategy. If you are interested in hearing about future funding calls, please visit our website on a regular basis.

In 2015, the Foundation launched the Ideas Portal to provide a mechanism to allow organizations to put forward their ideas for funding if the proposed initiatives are very closely aligned with the Impact Areas identified in our Strategic Direction .The Foundation is particularly interested in funding projects that have a broad reach or that have a strong potential to influence or inspire systemic change in one of our Impact Areas. We are looking for those ‘Big Ideas’ that will bring about change.

It should be noted that in 2017, most funds of the Foundation have been either committed or earmarked. Therefore, funding for new projects or initiatives in this calendar year will be quite limited.

For those interested in putting an innovative idea forward through the Ideas Portal, you will see that as a first step, the information that we seek is quite basic. Our intent is to limit the amount of work that organizations must undertake in order to present their idea.

**Foundation staff will review on a regular basis all ideas that are put forward and will follow up when there is a very close alignment of an idea with our Strategic Direction and a clear interest on the part of the Foundation to engage in a further conversation about the potential for funding. Please be advised that unfortunately we will not be able to accept inquiries through regular mail, email or phone.
